The Government of India released an official website for RTI in the beginning of the year 2013 which was exclusively for the questions to be asked from the ministries department. Now it has been extended to all central institutions which fall under the category of Right to Information Act 2005. This official portal was launched by National Informatics Center (NIC) that allows various functions such as filing RTI applications, first appeal and as well online payment mode for RTI fee payment. A response will be made within a period of 30 days to the information seeker. A fee of Rs.10 has to paid for each question asked and the word limit should be within 500. If the number of words exceed 500 then it can uploaded as an attachment in the respective column.

If you want to file RTI then click on the "Submit Request" to fill in the request details. After submitting the necessary information you will receive an registration number which is necessary for future reference. You can also make a first appeal by clicking on "Submit First Appeal" tab. You will be asked for the registration number of the application and email id. If you want to know the status of your application then click on "View Status" and give the application registration number.
